#FindYourBeautiful: The Re-Launch of Darling

Two weekends back, we attended the relaunch of Darling in Nigeria. We shot a video which we believe you will totally love and you can watch that on our YouTube channel.Oma Ehiri

Darling is a popular hair extension brand. You may know them better from their popular darling yaki extension which most of us used back in the days. I remember Deola being so excited at the event because she remembered  the days we felt like the coolest kids  wearing that hair extension. Well, the brand has embraced new trends in the hair industry. Hence, the relaunch.Darling hair extensions

The event which held at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, kicked off with a press conference. This was to let the press in on key information about the brand. The brand executives explained the vision for Darling in the Nigerian market. The plan is to constantly provide women across all demographics with fashionable, on-trend and affordable hair extensions. These includes braids, weaves and crochet hair extensions, from durable human hair to synthentic hair.darling hair press conference

The re-launch party kicked off after the press conference with guests in their best shade of purple. The host, Anita Hughes, popularly known as Omalicha did a great job holding the event together as you will get to see here. If you watch the video, you will also get to see the new TV ad for Darling which represents the new campaign by the brand, #FIndYourBeautiful.Anita Hughes aka Omalicha

The campaign is one that has featured a number of celebrities and influencers even before the launch. During the press conference, the Marketing Manager (Nigeria), Ayodele Otujinrin  said is all about empowering the African woman to find what makes her feel her most beautiful, most confident, most herself; to match her aspiration as she transitions in her role, her change in mood, or even change of preference.Marketing manager Darling Nigeria

We had a “Hair-off” between two Darling hairstylists, one of whom I remember to be Zubby. Now, if you watch the video, you will see all the styles that they created and maybe be able to try that out as well.Zubby at the relaunch of Darling Nigeria

Asides from this, there was a buffet of good food, cocktails and some energetic performances. Simi was the star of the night and performed some of her popular songs which we love.Simi at Darling relaunch
