Why Celebrities Wore Black to the Golden Globes

Just before we went to bed, we knew that it was the night of the 75th Golden Globes. What many probably did not know for sure was that the celebrities were all going to turn up in Black- this was in solidarity to the discrimination against women in the industry especially as it regards sexual harassment, a menace that has become so glorified silently in the industry but many have mustered courage to speak out. This action of theirs certainly caught the attention of the entire industry, hence the dress code black.

According to Eva Longoria, the colour black was a lot more than just a fashion statement. In her words, “This is a moment of solidarity, not a fashion moment”. It was quite impressive to see that many turned up in their best representation of black. Here are a few of our favourite looks from the red carpet;
